I have the kph30i and love them so far but sometimes they feel a bit too tight for my comfort, so would these Porta pro be more comfortable? I love the firm-soft feature that i can see in the pictures so far
tropishTo me the KPH30i are slightly more comfortable compared to the porta pros with stock foam pads. However, I recently bought Yaxi foam pads for the porta pros and they are now super comfy.
tropishThe "Comfort Zone" temple pads certainly help with comfort where the Porta Pro's are concerned, but in general, I find the KPH30i's more comfortable than the PP's. In the case of both headphones it's important to make sure you aren't wearing the headphones too far back on your ears. You don't want them resting on the helix (the outer most ring of your ear). With both my KPH's and PP's (and even my Sennheiser PX-100ii and Grado's) I like to wear them more forward so the helix isn't being pressed to my skull and so my jaw can carry some of the pressure.
OCBobHi, you mentioned the PX100ii. Do you have a preference between those and Portapros? I find the PX100ii darker, but smoother sounding, and the Portapro lighter and more "fun" sounding (headstage is more exciting). Sometimes they sound a bit harsh to me in the treble (esp. compared to the Sennheiser).
