So would it be a better idea to pretty much shove a Vmoda headset cable into my Philips X2 set, or get these?

rhinocerosbladderWell, you already spent more on the X2 which from all reviews is a great performer, so I'd recommend the BoomPro or similar.

rhinocerosbladderI use that exact set-up for gaming at the moment, works great and the width of sound on thew X2 is a great advantage but I am cosidering these too as the downside is the HUGE in-line mute volume control dangling nest to your chin from the boom pro, so unnecessary, you do need a mute (although I am told it gives feedback from the game when muted) this is just too big and heavy, shame as it is a good mic.
