Thanks to its dual-rotor design, this Perrelet watch is full of life. As you move around, you can actually see the front rotor swing back and forth, giving life to the P-481-H 26-jewel automatic movement inside Read More
Just received my piece and unpacked... It is AMAZING looking!!! I went with the blue version and it is stunning in person. The blue is a bit darker than in pictures, both on the dial and strap. VERY happy with the purchase and shipping was incredibly fast. THANK YOU Massdrop!!!
Not much info on the movement outside of manufacture marketing material. Given the 25 jewels movement it’s probabmy based on an eta. Few watchmakers truely make in house movements and they are usu in much more expensive well known brands; Rolex, Tudor, Omega.
Sure Tudor Pelagos used etas until about 2 years ago. Rolex and Valljue and so on. If it’s in house better knock my socks off, etas so common you’ll be able to get parts and service globally. New in house Tudors don’t have a history we’d hope it’s great as they are sister co to Rolex.
AkMikesCouple of younger companies are doing some pretty decent inhouse movements like Nomos and Frederique Constant. Good point about ETAs...they are everywhere.
lukinidAccording to their website it is an in-house movement. My guess is it is based on some kind of ETA movement.
It is NOT Sellita as the other person mentioned.
I usually find skeleton watches to be far too busy/unattractive for my taste. This is probably the most beautiful skeleton watch that I've ever seen. They really did a great job with the aesthetics. I think the second rotor helps clean up the design by keeping it less busy.
REALLY digging this piece!!! Been looking for a 42/42mm size Skeleton for awhile now. Hoping the strap is actually the dark brown as pictured. Thinking I will jump on this Drop... Anyone have any experiences with Perrelet before I take the plunge??? Blue or Silver/Brown strap... uggg... lol
BlacksunnPerrelet's marketing claims they are in continuous production since late 1700s...this is not really true as the brand was purchased in 2004 or 2005 (can't remember the year) by Festina, which is a Spanish watch group. They apparently paid a descendant of Perrelet to act as a figure head, but their company really started in the 2000s.
They do make some gimmicky watches like the turbine line, but they apparently produce manufacturer movements (like the one housed in this particular double rotor watch), which is pretty cool.
