Great denim! I have to say that this is my first pair of unsanforized denim and now I dont know if I could go back. I love the fit and after the first cold soak, they fit like a glove. I didnt give 5 stars because the finish was lacking. Lots of loose thread that I had to take a lighter to. Nothing major, just lots of stray ends. The vegtable tanned stitching also was pretty bad. But I'm 1 for 3 with good stitching on the patch. My iron hearts patch stitching has held up. My naked and famous hasn't either. Not a big deal as I have leather needles and waxed thread on-hand. But I cant give a 5 out of 5. But, i would buy again. The blue of the indigo and the creasing so far would make them a 5 out of 5.

Arrived today. Like with the other Massdrop Sage Denim drops, the waist circumference is NOT as advertised. These are advertised as a 36" marked waist having a 38" actual measurement, to shrink 1-1.5" after soak. Well, these 36" marked waist shipped dry at exactly 36" actual. Measurement method was to lay flat and measure across the back of the top block and double the length. After a 20 minute soak at 90F, a low spin and hang dry they're close to 34.75". Good thing I read all the discussions and review of other drops here and sized up. I am 35.5" at the hips and 34" at the waist, so it's a touch loose given the fairly high rise, but should be comfortable. Right now, it's everything you'd expect from a 23oz unsanforized denim. Moderate left leg twist, nearly impossible to fasten buttons, stiff enough to stand upright by itself. The denim itself is very dark, almost black. The fit and finish is below Gustin, N&F, and Tellason, much less 3sixteen, RT, APC, or LVC. I'd say it was close to something like Unbranded and Uniqlo. The cutting is rough, a lot of loose and dangling threads, button holes are unevenly sized. Here's hoping it'll last longer than the Unbranded I had though (the stitching in the waist stripped out entirely after two months).
