Does the mini box opener blade have a locking mechanism. I wonder if even that would be an issue carrying in NY. Some cops may even have issue with the saws.
Canadians: I found this on Amazon awhile back for something between $70-$85 (CAD) with free shipping. Even regular price is cheaper than MD right now: https://www.amazon.ca/Victorinox-SwissTool-Spirit-Multi-Tool-Pouch/dp/B0002T5YNW
The Butter-blade made this a no-go for me.
Tasselhoff
I prefer a real blade plus butter_blade multi tool, both combinaison is perfect.
louisTheXIV
not an issue if you carry a regular folding knife
any chance that MD would put SwissTool X also?
diersa
Yes I second this!!
Is the purpose to omit a straight blade to make this TSA approved for flying?
nycgags
No pocket knife is TSA approved, they will confiscate this tool. If you need to travel with one best to pack it in your shaving kit and put it in your suit case as checked baggage.
dnoblett
This is true, I use to work for TSA, Please don't carry this beautiful piece with you through any check point to board a plane! If you want to keep it put it in your checked luggage! Don't give TSA Shit!
How does this MT compare with Leatherman ones?

I have both and the Victorinox has absolutely no play in the pliers jaws at all. My Leatherman (Wingman) does have a decent amount of play in the pliers. The Victorinox is honestly a nicer overall piece of kit IMO.

Might not be comparing apples to apples but my Charge TTi is my personal favorite (I have 3 of them by now) along with the set of interchangeable screwdriver bits and been used daily for past 11 years(as I work in IT). My Vic is in one of my drawers at home since I got it as a gift the same year. Why do I have 3 TTi - one on the belt at all times (except flying), one in my fishing bag and one in the car. Just my one cent. :)
I’m with DBSS... would love to see a Spirit-X drop!
I want it ! ;) Why don't you ship this multitool to Poland ?
Marcin7407
what a shame :(
For what it's worth, I've had my victorinox multi-tool for around 15-16 years now. I was ten when I got it and it's holding up wonderfully. I honestly can't imagine my life without it.
Need a Spirit X drop....
Highly recommend! Very durable and lightweight , used it during my entire millitary service and it's still going!
there is no knife????
WebDude
looks like there no straight knife but there is a serrated one...
WebDude
Yeah I thought the same. My guess is its design intent was "You have a flip/full-tang knife already, so here's everything else you need to MacGyver in style"
Yeah! Please make this available in the Philippines....
Please include Philippines in your list. We dont have restriction in shipping multitools. Thanks
Why can't you ship knives and minitools to the Philippines when Banggood, Gearbest and the others can? Can you not make arrangements for this?
anyway to know which country this is beeing shipped from?
basmca
This would be really nice.....would save me a ton of money on import duties in some cases.
Less than $110aud shipped. Awesome price. I love my Leatherman Charge TTi, be interesting to compare the two.
I love this tool and want to buy an other one as a gift....but this price is just not that low....I got mine from Canadian amazon for 89 CAD and free two days shipping last time....this one will cost me 100+CAD and a long wait...so I probably won't get one.
Rebuswind
Currently its $130 Canadian. But, that is still only 25bucks different. And I'll pay 25 bucks to get it in 2 days as opposed to a month or more.
DBSS
I would too...also you can choose between spirit and spirit x.
I received mine today and to my surprise the leather sheath is frigging velcro! Man what a way to screw up a nice holster. I cringe every time I open it.
I love everything else about it - very high quality. I'll be in the market for a nice form fitting leather pouch with a button snap.

Victorinox also makes some accessories like belt pouches, they might have some alternate pouch styles
Velcro is Awesome!
Any update on this drop?
hahhhhaaaa holy shit! I own this already. Got it from my dad as a present. Its really handy, definitely worth it.
I would love to see a drop for the version of this with the spear point blade, more like a standard Victorinox pocket knife (I believe it's the SwissTool Spirit X, and this version with the wide serrated blade is the Spirit XC). Still with the leather case of course.
What's the update on this drop.!?
What's the difference betwixt this tool and the SPIRIT "X" ? I am new to this type of gear and the " EDC" world as a whole. I never knew so many were into what we carry to make a living and make a life.

The X has a no-serrated spear point knife...this has a serrated butter knife style blade. That is the only difference ...
they are the same....only difference is the main blade shape.
https://www.amazon.com/Victorinox-SwissTool-Spirit-Multi-Tool-oxidized/dp/B0002T5YNW On amazon right now for 3 dollars cheaper and 2 day shipping...

I just realized, that's old info. Now it's going for 105 on amazon and 75 here. So this is pretty good deal.
I purchased the combo pack with the hex wrench and bit kit elsewhere.
It's a super cool multitool. It's more refined and elegant than the Leatherman Wave, and offers more and a greater variety of tools including an awl. Just hearing the tools click out sounds Swiss.
The "butter knife" serrated blade is extremely sharp, and helps the Vic lean more towards "non-weapon" in sensitive environments. EDC enthusiasts typically carry a fancy folding knife as well, so the "butter knife" blade can also offer some variety or be useful as a beater or backup blade.
Versus a Wave, the mirror polished Vic is relatively slippery, and the laser cut "comb" on the locking mechanism is more sensitive to dirt/sand.
All of the Vic's tools are outboard, whereas only half of them are on the Wave. However, the Wave's outboard tools are mostly one hand opening. The Vic also lacks a bit driver and a diamond file, while the Wave lacks an awl (in traditional Leatherman fashion).
Honestly, both the Wav and Vic Spirit are excellent multitools. You can't really go wrong either way. And then the Rebar is fantastic too.

Great comparison, thanks for posting!
Is this model # 53800?
Please add an option to buy the model with the regular blade next time
