Fantastic knife but not for a beginner. The Asian angle of the blade is less forgiving than say a European angle. Excellent value

I have to give this knife 5 stars. It is by far the best chef style knife I've used. I own Wusthof and Henckles TOTL knives and this knife outperforms both for half the price. Very good buy.

I got this because my dad is really into cooking, but not enough to be snobby about knives. Great gift if you're in my situation; looking for a gift for someone with decent knives who would appreciate the aesthetic and sharpness.

This is a sharp and well constructed knife. The materials and finish are excellent. I wish I liked it more. My problem is with the handle, which slopes down instead of up the way most santokus do. There's really not enough room for the fingers between the knife handle and cutting board, and I don't have large hands.
