Like a boxcutter thrust into the future (with an edge that will last you through a million boxes), the Kizer Rogue is a Dirk Pinkerton design through and through. The blade, an aggressive wharncliffe, is made for control and strength Read More
Very attractive well made knife. Definitely recommend it & such a bargain. Only reason I deducted a star because due to the beautiful modern handle design it does reduce your thumb grip as your thumb tends to slide due to the mirror finish as well as the grooves in. I have no problem with the coloring of the clip as I find it attractive as well.
I'm sadly torn on the knife, for a couple of reasons. I love the blade shape, steel, action (more on that later), and feel in hand (I have large hands). Where my love ends is with the overall style.
The flutes cut into the scales/handles, for me, detract from the clean razor-like style of the blade. I would much prefer flat, or skeletonized scales/handles. Additionally, the more smooth edges and shape of the scales don't match the blades aggressive and angular shape.
Now for the pocket clip; blue anodized doesn't fit the knife's aesthetic at all, nor does the shape - it looks like it was an afterthought.
And, finally for the blade deployment action. While it does flick very smoothly, during the assembly, the teflon bushings (riding alongside the metal ones) were not installed well and one of them was pinched, causing some drag. I contacted Kizer via email, and I included pictures and a detailed description of the issue, but was sent replacement metal (bronze?) bushing twice, instead of the requested teflon ones, and I finally just gave up. Also, despite the smoothness of the flick, the detent is quite weak, allowing the blade to be deployed with a drop, or various types of wrist flick actions. Not a deal-breaker, but not the safest.
I really want to love this knife, but it just feels like a number of disparate design approaches that were mashed together. There's not continuity to the style aesthetic and really detracts from its positive aspects.
For the price $57.74 shipped you can not beat the deal
Titanium and S35VN designed by Dirk Pinkerton for only $57.74 shipped is a stupid great deal. Having a 3” blade keeps it at a useful size but still legal in most areas
Its like a box cutter on steroids
If it comes up again just buy it
You“ll be glad you did
Pretty great knife, loved it at the price. It’s a bit heavy and has some sharp edges in the pocket. I‘d love it more if the edges were rounded and some of the thickness taken out of the blade stock Overall though a great knife at the price I got it at here!
