Best built glasses there is. This is my third pair of Randolph's. My first pair was my Navy pair I got in '96. They've flown around the world twice and have been on 5 deployments. I still wear them today. I have a set of brown lense non-polarized too, but when I saw a drop for polarized for that cheap, I couldn't pass it up.
One sunglasses from Randolph Engineering is all you need. The build quality is superb and the cost per wear in the long term is very cheap especially when you purchase from MassDrop. Highly recommended.
I love these glasses, but don't expect the full package.
These are my favorite brand of sunglasses--what's not to love? They are quality built in Massachusetts to exacting standards. But when did they stop providing the care kit with the screwdriver set and replacement parts? What a bummer.
I've been wearing American Optical flight gear sunglasses (which look almost exactly the same as these) for 10+ years but the Randolph aviators are, in my opinion, better in the following ways: 1. These are slightly more curved to match the shape of my head. 2. The temples (the pieces that go from the lenses to the ears) are shorter than AO temples so they fit tighter front to back and don't slip down my nose as far, and most importantly: 3. The nose pads are rubbery as opposed to smooth plastic on the AO's, so they stay put on my face really well. Also there seems to be a blue-ish coating on the inside of the lenses (I have the green AGX glass) instead of on the outside of the lenses, which I imagine is to protect the coating, because the outsides get dirtier and therefore get cleaned more. Really great sunglasses.
Not the color that I want but exceeded my expectations
I wanted and still wants the 52mm gold frame + gray lens but always out of stock. Instead, I tried the black frame + tan lens. It looks cool! Quality is superb! Plus this is my only Tan lens across my 20++ sunglasses. Still wanting the 52mm gold frame + gray lens.
Absolutely love my shades! My first pair had a manufacturing defect, and Randolph replaced them at no charge to me. Top notch! If you're looking for aviator glasses, go with Randolph
