Product Description
Made in the Tactile Turn shop in Richardson, Texas, the Slider and Glider pens are machined from solid metal for reliable durability and a great feel in the hand. Sliders tend to fit better in shirt pockets without sticking out, while Gliders may be more comfortable for writers with larger hands Read More

I've been fidgeting with this thing constantly since it came today - would recommend. The action was a little rough when I first got it - it looked like there were some shavings inside, which made it bind a little. Luckily I was able to clean it out a bit with some 3-in-1 oil and q-tips to get the action super smooth. The shavings may have scratched the piston a little (visible in photo), but I would expect that to happen eventually with brass after dirt and dust getting in there. I do wish I could remove the piston for a full cleaning, but I wasn't sure how this was done, and didn't wanna try to force anything out.
The outside is textured to give it grip along the longitudinal axis, and feels great. It has a great weight to it - very solid and feels like one solid piece. The seamless connection of the two pieces (which is also where the o-ring is) really helps with this too. The placement of the clip is intentional too - it and the bolt are able to stay out of your way when writing (right-handed - I'd imagine it's the same for lefties as well). I haven't been able to get off the top of it - I'm not sure if this is suppose to come off, and I'm afraid of marring it too much.
I got the slider version to put a Fisher PR4 in it, but I love the Schmidt that came in it - I may end up switching!

I've only had it a day, but so far I am loving this pen! I confess, I find playing with the little slide mechanism to be strangely satisfying when I'm sitting there staring at the computer or the paper and trying to collect my thoughts. Aside from that though, I am discovering I love writing with it. I prefer a much finer line when writing and this pen definitely delivers that! It also writes very smoothly along the page without skipping or scratching. My only real complaint, and I would probably knock off half a star for this, is that the ink smears. I'm a lefty and so my hand tends to drag across the page and I wind up with smudged writing. It's not BAD, I've certainly experienced worse, but it IS a bit disappointing for such a fine instrument. However, having said that, I still want to buy another one and have already put in a request for another drop of this pen. I purchased the blue one and the color is GORGEOUS! A nice, bright, metallic blue, without being too shiny.

I got the copper Slider. Pen is beautiful, well-built. Ink is smooth, a little smudgy. The machined (?) circles along the body provide a good grip and add to the aesthetics. The clip is very strong. The downside to that is, the tightness and strength of the clip limit clipping options. Besides the clip, the heft (which I enjoy writing with) can make it carry awkwardly on the shirt. The bolt action is neat and smooth. The little upward swoop at the bottom of the groove is clever, allowing the bolt to lock in when the pen is down. I don't like how the bolt behaves at the top of the groove, though. It sort of jiggles and rattles. The bolt itself is not loose, rather it is firmly attached to the inner cylinder, but that whole cylinder has a lot of play in the top position. Perhaps this is the tradeoff for the action being smooth and easy. But, I had expected it to be more still and quiet at rest, and I don't care for this extra play. I wonder if a swoop at the top, similar to the bottom, would remedy this. Very cool pen overall.

Copper Slider: this pen is fantastic at any price.
I have a number of different “bolt action” and pocket pens including: Felhoelter TiBolt, Tactile Turn Glider, and a few others. Until receiving the TT Slider I always carried the brass Kaweco Sport Rollerball pen in my pocket. The Tactile Turn Slider in copper beats them all. I will get one for my car, one for my office, one for my briefcase, in addition to the one I now generally carry in my pocket. I will likely purchase more as gifts as well. I am 6’3” tall, and the size is more comfortable than the larger Tactile Turn Glider (which I have already given away)., the mechanism works well, and the pen fits great in my hand. The refills for the Slider also write better for me. Full marks Tactile Turn!

Awesome pen
I got the brass in the shorter and I love it. The weight is perfect and the pen writing is super smooth.

Very nice looking pen
Photos don’t do this pen justice! What a really good pen, the quality and machining is on point. I have the copper version and the patina is looking great.

Good but spongey
I want to like this pen more than a 3 star rating. The body of the pen is fantastic, the tactile sensation is super cool, but the action is loose and spongey. Luckily there's a new version, which can be instantly differentiated by the new version having a flat top while the old version has a round top. Buy the new one!

I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting a high quality writing instrument.
I really like the heft and weight of the copper and the subtle ridges make for a secure grip , I use this pen on a daily basis and in the few places that I go that frown on carrying knives ,I can carry this pen with the confidence of knowing that when push comes to shove, whatsoever starts it will be in for a very nasty surprise.

Love the material and the action. I went with copper and the weight has been perfect. Can't wait for the patina to develop. I have used it for quick notes as well as longer tasks and it has felt like an extension of my hand. Great product from Will.
