As a regular towel, these would not compare to your average run of the mill inexpensive brand.
- They are not nearly as absorbant
- have a very smooth texture (which honestly feels strange as a towel)
- aren't incredibly effective as towels.
BUT
These are travel towels. They absorb as much as they need to so that air drying doesn't give you too much of a chill or soak your only pair of clothes.
+ Plus they weigh almost nothing!
+ Plus they pack down to, at the most, ⅓ of standard bathroom towels.
+ Plus sticks and needles can simply be shaken off. (Instead of picking out each one from individual loops of cotton)
+Snags are not to be worried about
To make this clear, I was hoping they would dry better, but I am in no way disappointed in what I've bought. They were a good price (even with shipping to Canada) and did all they needed to while I was out camping without being impossible to pack.
Oh, and the snap clasp loop is a nice feature. :)

The perfect size, nice wieght, reasonably absorbant, and the fabric seems very strong. I wish it was a bit softer like ones I have previously owned, but they are servicable. The Snap-button loop is a nice touch but the loop's fabric does not seem like it will last long.

Really light-weight, packs really small too. I got 2 extra large and 1 medium. Feels a little weird drying with it, but it absorbs surprisingly well. Also dries quickly. I shower at work after biking, and hang my towel up at my desk. It is dry by lunch as far as I can tell.
The extra large is pretty big -- tons of room to wrap all the way around my waist (and then some) and the bottom goes down to my ankles. It is big enough for my wife to wrap around her armpits and hang down to her thighs. It will generally rest on the floor if you try and hang it on a towel hook with the loop on the corner.
The medium will not make it all the way around my waist. It's a good, small towel, but will not work for keeping you modest after showering at the gym. I suspect the large would, though.

I love these towels. Although they have a different feel than terrycloth, they dry you off completely on the first pass and then dry out seemingly in hours. I got the XL (I'm 6'3"), but the medium would have been OK too. The light weight and compactness is great when I go backpacking or travel off the grid. Tough to beat the price too.

These towels don't feel the same as a terrycloth towel but they dry you off quickly and completely. A great value for the cost. Nothing works better when camping.

I hate reviews posted before the product has actually been used, and now that I’ve thoroughly used (and abused) these towels, I’m comfortable giving them the highest rating. I swim 3-5 times a week, steam and sauna a couple times a week, and throw them on the back seat of the minivan to dry. One is typically in the wash cycle, with two on active rotation. They are super absorbent, tough, dry quickly, and the handy snap loop makes them easy to hang. Super compact too. I got the large size, and they wrap around my large 38 waist with plenty of room. They actually make it easier for me to get a work out in, since I’m never worried about having a towel in the car.

I can't recommend this product enough! I bought a 3-pack and was so happy with them that I went and bought another 3-pack the next time the drop was active. I find the XL towels are great for camping and as very lightweight beach towels and the M towels are perfect for drying off after my bike commute (I also keep one in my backpack "just in case") or on a long, hot bike ride as they fit nicely into a jersey pocket.

Love the towels. They performed better than others I own. Would prefer a small titanium for the loop, as the plastic is already partly broken.

These towels feel very nice and seem to be quality made except for one thing. There is a built-in hanging loop with a plastic rivet on the corner of each towel. It is very convenient to secure the towel on a clothesline for drying, so that wind would not shake the towel off the line. But the plastic rivet fell apart the second day of use, so I'll have to figure out some sort of replacement for the hanging loop.
