No more frayed edges, stains, or fading: if cared for correctly, carbon fiber playing cards can last a lifetime. Made from 100 percent carbon fiber, these thin and durable cards have a twill pattern and a matte surface Read More
Ok, please forgive me but I didn’t buy these to play poker or blackjack. I bought these for projects dealing with drones and microelectronics. These are extremely useful because of their carbon fiber nature. Extremely light weight compared to steel and a wonderful material to build protective structures around drones/robotics/raspi delicate components.
I guess the moral of this story is imagination. When I seen these I didn’t really look at the and think “Boy I can’t wait to play solitaire with my new hi tech carbon fiber playing cards!” But instead seen another fantastic use for them and they are spectacular. For those who actually want to play cards with them: they are durable as can be, but the red color blends in quite a bit and doesn’t have enough contrast and while they are quite flexible (the CF is very thin to make it more of a “card”) I don’t know that you will be able to do the same kinds of shuffles or tricks as they are a lot more ridged then a standard playing card.
They are very high quality as far as the material, still very usable for cards in general and I haven’t broken a card yet but I wouldn’t consider this some sort of professional deck; maybe more of a nice addition to an office desk as a conversation starter. Although if you go through a lot of decks or like to slice or stab things by throwing cards then go nuts, this is your deck!
Really cool cards, no complaints about them. The included case is garbage though. A halfway decent case for a $60 deck of cards would be nice. Particularly given that the cards are smaller than standard ones so buying a replacement one is difficult.
As others have mentioned, the red cards are difficult to read. The cards themselves are about 5mm/0.25" narrower and 2mm/0.1" shorter than standard playing cards. Being carbon fiber, they are very stiff and almost impossible to shuffle. I bought these because I collect playing cards and I was curious. For anyone else, it isn't worth the cost. I don't recommend these for anyone unless you're REALLY into carbon fiber, or need to cut bananas in a pinch? (hopefully that image is still in the gallery when you read this or that won't make sense :3)
If you need durable playing cards, they make waterproof/plastic ones for about $6 USD. They're usable (you can actually shuffle them) and can be found at almost any drug store. If you're looking for something with a bit of style, look up Theory11. They make decks with beautiful tuck boxes and good quality playing cards. They aren't necessarily the best, but it's a good starting point and definitely enough to impress your friends. If you need anything fancier, there's a whole world of playing cards out there (it's a trap!) to explore. You can certainly find something that fits your aesthetic for less than 1/5th of the cost of these.
I confirm what other have said about red cards - they are quite hard to read in any setting. Also mine arrived with paint having fingerprint smudges on some cards - feels like very low quality. I would not recommend them.

These cards are pretty neat, they feel really unique in your hands. I haven't tried to cut fruit with them or anything like in the photos on the drop. The cards are great. My biggest complaint is the box, which I can get over, so I really do recommend the cards.
The box they come in is a little disappointing, its not what you would consider a "normal" deck of playing cards box to be. It opens more like a game box tuan a deck of cards box. It also looks like they took a cardboard box and glued some very thin carbon fiber sheet to the outside. Its seems poorly made and not at all resistent to the elements the way the cards are. The drop is for the cards though, not the box they come in.
The red color used for the dark suits is hard to read. Also received two king of clubs and no king of spades. Otherwise the card material is interesting and very sturdy. A lil hard to shuffle with but you get used to it
The carbon fiber feels nice and durable. On some cards the print isn’t as detailed and kind of blurry. My only concern is that the print on the card will wipe off. I haven’t tested it but it seems like if water got on the card and you wipe it off, the ink will smudge off.
These were definitely not worth the $60 something dollars I paid for them. Very unhappy with this purchase. They're thin and seem like they're just a carbon fiber print. They feel cheap like they'll rip. This was a big surprise to me, especially since Drop normally has strong quality items. You're better off just buying a regular basic deck.
